The number of outbound vacationers from the Netherlands decreased sharply in 2020 over the previous year, as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. After peaking at 11.1 million in 2019, the number of travelers dropped to around seven million in 2020. That year, roughly 5.9 million tourists took holidays abroad lasting for five days or more.
