Sea rescue operations of the regional operational surveillance and rescue centers (CROSS) had increased between 2017 and 2019. Among all nautical activities, CROSS assisted kitesurfers the most, in 2019, 343 rescue operations were due to a kitesurfer in distress. Sailing was the second activity that mobilized the most regional forces of the CROSS.
