Women in the European Union are having their first pregnancy at an increasingly later age. The average age at which mothers give birth to their first child was **** in the EU in 2023. In countries from Central and Eastern Europe, women decide to have their first pregnancy at an age below the EU average. The youngest mothers were women in *** years old. On the other hand, women in Slovenia and Croatia decided to become pregnant at **** and **** years of age, respectively.
