Over 366 million coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine doses were confirmed for Germany by February 16, 2021, according to the German government. However, due to pending admission procedures and insufficient production capacity, the delivery of the doses promised might take much longer. The EU ordered a total of 1.16 billion vaccine doses, planning to distribute these in the necessary amounts among its member states. All 350 million EU citizens were supposed to be covered. Additionally, the German government placed an order directly with BioNTech/Pfizer and CureVac.
