In 2019, coastal fishing was the leading fishing method in Tunisia in terms of production, reaching approximately 54.6 thousand metric tons. Bluefish fishing followed with a total production of nearly 47.6 thousand metric tons. In that year, the total fisheries and aquaculture production in the country exceeded 150 thousand metric tons.
