Based on final energy consumption; in constant 2018 prices
Supplementary notes
According to the source, the energy intensity of GDP shows the relation between the total amount of energy consumed and the GDP of a country. A low ratio indicates that less energy is used to produce a unit of product and as this ratio increases, the amount of energy required to produce a monetary unit of economic production increases.
Peru's GDP energy intensity has experienced an overall downward trend in the past decade. In 2022, the South American country's final energy consumption amounted to **** thousand barrels of oil equivalent per million U.S. dollars of GDP, a slight decrease in comparison to 2010.
