As of March 23, 2022, over 3.7 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 30.6 thousand related deaths were reported in Belgium. According to the figures, COVID-19 cases were higher in the female population, whereas deaths were slightly higher in the male population. To this day, 53.3 percent of confirmed coronavirus cases in Belgium were women and 52 percent of deaths were men.
