The consumption of dry beans in South Africa declined to 85.2 thousand metric tons in 2018/19, down from 96.2 thousand in 2017/18. The highest consumption level was registered in 2002/03, at around 156.2 thousand metric tons. It is worth noting that South Africa is considered a net importer of dry beans.
