An October 2019 survey of adults in the United States found that ** percent of male respondents felt that it was never acceptable for someone to look through their partner's cellphone without their knowledge. In comparison, only ** percent of female respondents stated the same. In total, ** percent of female U.S. adults said that it was "sometimes" acceptable to look through their significant other's phone without their knowledge, whereas only ** percent of male agreed with this statement.
