The natural gas pipeline Nord Stream 2 was expected to contribute nearly 2.7 billion euros to the Russian gross domestic product (GDP), based on calculations from December 2018. Germany's GDP was forecast to gain over 1.85 billion euros from the project that was under construction, planned to be finished by the end of 2020 or in the first quarter of 2021.
