As a consequence of the coronavirus outbreak, the number of guest nights in Denmark declined as of March 2020. In detail, 1.3 million overnight stays were registered in March 2020, nearly one million fewer than the previous year. Overnight stays continued to decline in April 2020 with roughly 1.3 million compared to 4.5 million in 2019. Although the numbers gradually recovered from July to October, overnight stays dipped towards the end of year, reaching as low as 1.06 million in December.
