Of member states, Germany recorded the highest expenditure on domestic tourism, with residents spending a total of roughly 54 billion euros on overnight trips within Germany in 2019. The figures include expenditure on transport, accommodation and food and drinks during domestic trips lasting at least one night, for all travel purposes.
