Due to the crisis of the coronavirus COVID-19, in March 2020 the Spanish hotel chain Meliá Hotels International decided to temporarily close 45 of its hotels in Spain. Most of these establishments were in Andalusia (13), the Community of Madrid (11) and Catalonia (9).
