Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the beginning of 2020 in South Korea, retailers suffer from reduced traffic and sales. Lotte Mart, a leading hypermarket retailer, reported that sales as well as visitor numbers fell within a 30-day time period. Not only do customers try to avoid going shopping, some stores have to close down for several days to disinfect after customers were confirmed to have carried the virus.
