Distribution of child services in Australia by type and state 2020
In 2020, ** percent of child care services in New South Wales were long day care centers, which was the highest proportion of long day care services of any other Australian state and territory. Long day care also made up over ** percent of child care services in Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia. Family day care was the least prominent child care service in all states and territories, making up less than **** percent in each jurisdiction.
