In 2018, the number of agritourism facilities with restaurants in the South of Italy increased by 4.2 percent compared to the previous year. By contrast, agritourism facilities with restaurants in the Italian Islands decreased by 3.4 percent between 2017 and 2018.
Agritourism is a specific form of tourism which mostly refers to stays in farmhouses as well as participating in a wide range of farm activities and tasting local foods while on holiday.
