During the observation period, the value of gross written premiums by life insurance companies on the domestic market in Croatia increased, reaching a value of approximately 423 million euros in 2018 before dropping to 413 million euros in 2019. The lowest value registered was in 2011 at 323 million euros.

The United Kingdom had the highest value of life insurance premiums among all European counties in 2019, followed by France and Italy. Together, the top three countries accounted for nearly 60 percent of the European market.
