The study analyzed 2.1 billion Russian-language messages in social media (Vkontakte, Odnoklassniki, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, blogs, forums, public messenger channels, and comments to news articles) from August 15 to September 15, 2019. In 124 thousand messages, podcasts were mentioned.

The majority of social media messages featuring podcasts in Russia from mid-August to mid-September, 2019 were dedicated to The Joe Rogan Experience, a free show in which the famous standup comedian invites guests for conversations, collecting under *** thousand mentions. A product of the Latvia-based internet media source Meduza ranked second with over *** thousand messages, while the podcast of Arzamas educational service received the third highest number of mentions.
