For 2019, the GII provides detailed innovation metrics for a total of 129 economies, which represent 91.8% of the world’s population and 96.8% of the world’s GDP.
The overall GII score is the average of the Input and Output Sub-Index scores. More information on the methodology is available .
This statistic was assembled using several editions of the GII yearly publication. Figures prior to 2019 come from previous reports.
