In 2018, about a third of people practicing bicycle tourism in Italy preferred to stay in hotels. According to the study, people who practiced bicycle tourism who booked a hotel accounted for about 30 percent of all cycling tourists in Italy in the selected year. Conversely, only roughly five percent of these tourists chose to stay in tourist resorts.
