The number of smokers in Poland is gradually decreasing. Over twenty-two years, the proportion of smokers decreased by 11 percent. The share of female smokers in July 2019 amounted to 21 percent. This percentage has slightly decreased compared to the previous year and has remained stable at more than 20 percent for many years. For men, there has been a significant decline in smokers. The percentage reached 31 percent in July 2019, a decrease of 17 percentage points compared to February 1997.
