From 2017 to 2018, the number of both men and women referees and scouts of the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV) slightly decreased. Furthermore, according to the study, over the period considered the majority of federation officials were men. In fact, although their number decreased in the selected years, in 2018 the FIPAV registered 4,126 male referees and scouts. This was about 64 percent of the total figure.
