In 2013 and 2018, Western Europe accounted for the largest share of pharmaceutical preparations imported into Italy. In fact, according to the data provided by , the share of imports coming from Western Europe decreased from 84.3 percent in 2013 to 82.5 percent in 2018, remaining so very high. The share of imports coming from NAFTA countries – the second largest suppliers for Italy – increased from 11.4 percent to 13.6 percent between the two years.
