In 2018, the fisheries and aquaculture sectors in Thailand contributed around * billion Thai baht to the gross domestic product (GDP). This indicated a slight decrease from the previous year. According to the figure, the contribution of fisheries and aquaculture sectors to the GDP in Thailand fluctuated throughout the decade.     

 Fishery and aquaculture production in Thailand 

   Thailand is a peninsular country with over *** thousand kilometers of water area. Apart from land animal meat, fish from rivers, canals, and the ocean have been an essential protein provider to the Thai population for a long time. In 2019, Thailand’s imported fish products amounted to approximately billion Thai baht. In that same year, approximately 467 thousand tons of chilled and frozen fish were imported to Thailand.  This was the biggest import volume of fish products in the country.    

Agricultural production in Thailand

   Likewise, the agriculture, hunting, and forestry sector in Thailand also significantly contributed to the economy in Thailand. These industries ²â¾±±ð±ô»å±ð»å a°ù´Ç³Ü²Ô»å **** trillion Thai baht to the GDP of Thailand in 2018. Major crops in Thailand are various such as rice, sugarcane, and cassava. Furthermore, the forecasted production volume of sugarcane amounted to approximately *** million tons in the same year.
