Telecom Italia S.p.A. was the leading telecommunications company in Italy based on revenues. Data provided by Competitive Data show that in 2018 the revenues of Telecom Italia amounted to over ** billion euros. Second and third in the ranking came Vodafone Italia S.p.A. and Wind Tre S.p.A., with revenues adding up to *** billion euros and *** billion euros, respectively.    

Telecommunications industry in Italy

The net revenues of the Italian telecommunications industry increased gradually between 2015 and 2017, then slightly decreased in 2020. The same can be said for the production value, while the earnings before taxes (EBT) rose constantly. Also, the operating result increased from 2015 to 2020, although not constantly.

Telecommunications refer to the exchange of information over a long distance by using electronic means. The telecommunication industry in Europe is very extensive and since the network includes approximately ** countries, it is quite difficult to have a complete overview of the operators providing telecommunications services.
