In 2020, the pet store consumers in the United States visited the most to buy pet supplies was PetSmart: in the past 12 months, just over a third of pet supply purchasing consumers in the country had shopped in one of the company's many outlets. Petco, PetSmart's leading competitor, stood in second place. While Chewy ranked third among offline shoppers, it was the most visited online pet supply store in 2020.
