President Trump's revised travel ban finally came into force yesterday at 8pm ET. Entitled , the ban restricts entry to the United States from six majority Muslim countries: Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.

While the explicit aim of the ban is to reduce the risk of terrorism, not a single fatal jihadist terror attack has been committed on U.S. soil since 9/11 by somebody born in these countries. In fact, all such perpetrators were either born in the United States or were legal permanent residents.
