The summer edition of the European Accommodation Barometer found that European hoteliers focused overwhelmingly on energy efficiency when it comes to the topic of sustainable investment, with 3 out of 5 respondents saying that they are spending money in this field. Other popular investment areas include waste reduction (36%) and water preservation (28%). The growing importance of local experiences during travel can also be reflected in accommodation providers鈥� plans to invest more in providing such products and services (20%).
