As the 2014 World Cup culminated in a nail-biting final between Germany and Argentina, the global Twitter community closely watched and commented on what was happening in Rio's famous Maracana stadium. According to , the final sparked 32.1 million tweets, second only to Germany's spectacular 7:1 thrashing of tournament host Brazil.
