Working Women Can't Get in the Picture

There are wide gender discrepancies online between female and male job searches online. An overlooked and understudy facet of that gap is what people see when they search for images of jobs like CEOs, doctors, and teachers.

found that if you search for an image of a mechanic, about a quarter of images will be of female mechanics. According to data Pew gathered from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, only about 2 percent of women are actually mechanics. On the other end of the spectrum, only about three in ten images of bartenders will be women on the internet, though 57 percent of bartenders are women.
