UK construction company Carillion filed for compulsory liquidation this morning after rescue talks with the government and lenders broke down at the weekend. According to , Carillion has been carrying 拢1.5bn of debt, including a 拢587m pension deficit, and a 拢300m cash hole. While it is still unclear as to how staff will be affected, the Wolverhampton-based firm's latest shows that it employs around 20 thousand people in the UK.
